"When we set out to budget our wedding, we knew there would be a lot of scrimping and saving, but we also knew there was one area we would spare no cost on: the photographs. A day this important must be documented with great consideration and abundance, as it may be the only day of our lives we'll have the good fortune of sharing with nearly every one of our friends and family members.
The memories Lise captured for us that day will never fade away. She managed to record every event, whether massive or minute, and more important still, she did so with us in mind. She truly realized the importance of taking in all of her surroundings to understand what was important to us, and took all of her pictures accordingly. She took note of every detail of our wedding, from the physical aspects to the atmosphere as a whole, and made sure they were an integral part of her finished product. When there's gray in my hair and I'm hard pressed to remember my own name anymore, I'll be able to take out these photographs and still remember exactly how I felt on that wonderful day so many decades ago."

My fiancé and I were very nervous about choosing a photographer. Even after looking through scores of wedding albums on the web, I still wasn’t sure what I wanted and my fiancé didn’t think we needed a photographer at all! Luckily, we found Lise Baker, whose work and quality went above and beyond what I expected!
I am very camera-shy and was worried that having a photographer follow me around would make me too nervous to look beautiful. That’s why I was drawn to Lise’s work – all of her subjects looked so relaxed and calm. And I felt the same way when the big day came. I was still nervous, of course – it was my wedding day! But I didn’t feel like the paparazzi were following me around. Lise struck a perfect balance between blending into the background to capture unguarded moments and confidently directing people for our posed formal portraits.
Lise was also impressively efficient. We didn’t want to spend too much time away from our guests, since most had come from out-of-state and we were eager to spend time with them. After the ceremony, Lise busted out our formal portraits in record time! This was very important to me, because I didn’t want my groom to see my dress before the big moment, but I thought we’d have to forgo that tradition to get some posed pictures and still make it to the reception without making our guests wait too long.
My fiancé and I didn’t have an overarching vision for our wedding – we weren’t concerned with having consistent color schemes or a specific feel for our nuptials. Our two venues didn’t really ‘match’ and we were fine with that. But somehow Lise managed to find the connection between the two places and concoct us a theme! The result is that our wedding album looks much more cohesive than I ever would have thought. By using graceful angles, focusing on classic details, and using black & white photography very judiciously, Lise gave our wedding a very elegant, vintage feel – just like we’d done it on purpose and I didn't even have to do the work!
When we got the pictures back from Lise (very promptly, I might add!) I was blown away by her work. I mean, I had expected to get a few good shots in there, but I was amazed at how many fantastic pictures there were. Each photo was better than the last! She took an impressive number of pictures and they all look marvelous! She captured some simple, intimate moments as well as the larger, more important memories. I can’t wait to get some prints of our favorites to give as gifts and to grace the walls of our new home. Our wedding album is so beautiful and will be a treasured keepsake of a happy day for years to come! It’s also great that we have the whole shebang on a flash drive so we can easily share the pictures with friends and family.
I would recommend Lise Baker to all bridal couples looking for good-quality, professional photography. She is hard-working, easy going, and very talented. I could not be happier with the way her work turned out! Thanks, Lise!!
