I have a one year old daughter. She's the light of my life. while I was pregnant I always told myself I was going to have wonderful photos of her, since i'm a photographer and all. But as is normally the case, life gets in the way. Most days the idea of setting up a shoot doesn't agree with me or her, or both. So just like most parents, I have lots of cute snapshots, and not many portraits. The other day though she was just playing in our living room in the mid afternoon and the light was really fantastic. I broke out my camera and took a few great shots. She loves it when i take photos and is so comfortable with he whole process. She begs me to show her after each shot. She was playing on a rocking horse that used to be my mothers, then mine and my sisters and it made the whole time feel really nostalgic for me, so I edited them to have a retro/vintage feel in Photoshop. I'm really happy with the results.
